Learn. Explore. Decide.

The Open Enrollment period for eligible employees will take place from Monday, September 16, 2024 through Friday, October 11, 2024.

The health and wellbeing of our employees is important, and we encourage you to make sure your benefits work for you. The District is committed to offering benefits and plan options to cover your individual and family health needs.

During the Open Enrollment period, employees may enroll-in, change or cancel Health, Dental, Vision, FSA Health Care Account, FSA Dependent Care Account, FSA Transit, FSA Parking, or Voluntary Benefit Plans such as Supplemental Life Insurance, Buy-Up Long-Term Disability (LTD), MetLife Critical Illness, Group Accident and MetLaw Legal Plan.

Any changes made during the Open Enrollment period will be effective January 1, 2025.

  • You must elect FSA Health Care and/or FSA Dependent Care annually if you would like to participate.
  • You may participate in voluntary benefits such as Supplemental Life, Buy-Up LTD, Critical Illness, Group Accident and Metlaw Legal Plan.

Full details on health plans options are available at https://www.calpers.ca.gov/.  You will have the option to enter your zip code and find out which plan options are available to you. It is very important to find out beforehand if your doctor accepts the plan you select and make sure they are accepting new patients.

For the 2025 election, if no changes are made during the Open Enrollment period, we will carry forward your 2024 elections, except for all Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

If you wish to continue enrollment in the Flexible Spending Account programs, you are required to re-enroll online annually. To enroll in Supplemental Life insurance and/or make changes to level of existing coverage, you must elect coverage online via SECOVA and complete the Hartford application online right after you confirm your SECOVA election prior to the deadline of October 11, 2024.  Hartford reservses the right to underwrite the policy. Additionally, if you wish to participate in MetLife Voluntary Benefits (Critical Illness, Group Accident, and MetLaw Legal Plan) for the first time, you must enroll online.

Important Reminder: When adding new dependents online, you must also submit ALL required documentation such as Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate (Passport is accepted), and Social Security cards, for all dependents. This should be submitted on SECOVA, or to the Benefits Office no later than 5pm, Friday, October 11, 2024, in order for benefits to be activated effective January 1, 2025. No exceptions.
